Privacy
Trivit keeps very little.
The game
The daily puzzle, Practice, your run, your stats and your settings live on your phone.
Playing needs no account, and none of it is sent anywhere unless you use Friends.
Friends
Friends is optional. If you sign in, a server keeps what Friends needs to work: the name
and card you pick, your friend code, your friends, requests, blocks and groups, and your daily results — the
time, misses, hints and trios found, and when each trio was found, which is how a result is checked. Your friends
and the groups you are in see your results, as much as your settings in Friends allow.
Accounts
While Friends is in beta, accounts are guest accounts: no email, no password, and
nothing that names you except the name you choose. When Apple and Google sign-in arrive, signing in with one shares
an account identifier, and an email address if you let it, so you can sign back in. Nothing more is asked for.
Where it is kept
On Supabase, a database service, in the United States. It is used only to run
Friends: never sold, never shared for advertising, and never used to track you. Like any server it keeps technical
logs, including IP addresses, for a short time, for security.
Reports
If you report a name, the report and the name are kept so it can be looked at, and the
person is blocked for you.
Deleting it
In the app: Friends, then your profile (the person at the top), then Settings, then
Delete account. It removes your name, card, friends, groups and every result, for good, straight away. Without the
app, email feedback@trivit.app with your name in Trivit and your friend
code, and it will be deleted within 30 days. The game itself keeps working either way.
The clipboard
The very first time Trivit opens, it checks the clipboard once for a trivit.app
invite link, so an invite survives installing the app. It takes nothing else, and never looks again.
Reminders
The daily reminders are scheduled on your phone. No server sends them.
In the browser
The board you play on this website is kept in your own browser, on your own
device, so reloading does not lose it. It is never sent anywhere and it clears when the day rolls over. Your run and
your stats do not exist here at all; they live only in the app.
If you write to me
The feedback form is handled by Netlify. What you send -- your message, and the
phone and email you choose to give -- reaches me by email and is kept with the form. Leave the email blank and there
is nothing to reply to and nothing to keep.
If you tip
If you choose to send a tip from this website,
the payment is handled by Squarespace. Your card details go to Squarespace, not to me, and the
Squarespace privacy policy covers them.
No trackers
This website uses no cookies and runs no analytics. Nobody is counting your visit.
